hooeey now offers users a convenient way to login–with OpenID. For those not familiar with OpenID, it can be summed up as an emerging platform for a universal log-in. It aims to create a single, easy-to-use , digital identity across the web. This means that you can login into any of the OpenID compliant sites with a single id. You can find more information at OpenID’s site.

The good news is that existing hooeey users may also link their accounts to their OpenID for convenience:

How To Record Browsing History For Productivity

hooeey is now available for Mac and Linux!

June 3rd, 2008

Today, we beta-released a hooeey toolbar for Mac and Linux OSes. It is a big step towards building a browser-agnostic and a platform-agnostic web app that will help users re-purpose their browsing history.

Now, new or existing users can use hooeey to aggregate their browsing history, be it from a Windows, Mac or Linux PC—or from any or all of these platforms. For example, a user who uses a Mac at home and a Windows PC at work can seamlessly aggregate his browsing data.

Under the hood: Toolbar Changes

June 3rd, 2008

We also made some changes to the hooeey toolbar  (V 2.5)

  1. Toolbar  icons stay visible throughout
  2. You can opt to stay logged into h! through the toolbar login icon
  3. Message is displayed while your links are being uploaded to your h! account

Under the hood: Site Changes

June 3rd, 2008

We have made some changes which should help users get better visibility of their browsing.

  1. All links are now grouped by domain. This makes it very easy for users to find their links. You also have the option to see your browsing history in a “Links” view by choosing the “Display” option
  2. A single click lets you see all the links you have browsed within a domain
  3. All links on hooeey now display the browsed timestamp to make it easier for the user to locate a link

4. All links are private by default and they can be shared with friends. The option to share with the public, as well as the public area for shared links, is now discontinued

5. A self-serve account deletion facility is now available in the “Settings” for users to delete their hooeey account if they wish to leave
